CRUFTS DOG SHOW
Have you ever been to Crufts Dog Show, UK? It's the biggest dog show in the world and it attracts dog lovers from all over. See highlights on YouTube.
This year the dog voted Best in Show was an Australian Shepherd. At Crufts, there is competition to see who is the best at agility, flyball, Canine Good Citizen, and more. To qualify as Good Citizens, dogs must be well-behaved and obedient. We can all achieve this if we put in the time to train and socialise our dogs. We can train our dogs, and train ourselves, to be Good Citizens. It helps if the owners are calm and well-behaved. Am I a good citizen? Do I respect others and respect the law (including traffic officers!) We are citizens of heaven, says the Bible. A good standard to live up to!
PUPPY SCAMS
Many people have fallen victim to puppy scams. Certain breeds are hard to find,
and scammers take advantage by creating websites that pretend to have just the
breed you have been looking for! And even more amazing, the puppy is ready to
go! Always do a video call in real time before you part with money. Photos can
be faked. You need to see the live puppies with your own eyes, and speak
to the breeder.
DOGS HELPING AUTISM
A dog can be a good friend to an autistic child especially those age 5 - 12. A dog can help break the silence of the child. Ideally, it should be a trained service dog, but even an untrained pet can be the child’s friend. Read more: https://guidedog.org.za/autism-support-dogs/
