The kennel name Merwanke is registered with KUSA. Merwanke is based on a farm outside of Bonnievale, Western Cape where the dogs have plenty of space and go for regular walks. Merwanke breeding is small because I believe in breeding a good standard of dachshunds with the best possible health while giving individual attention to the mom and litter. Our dream is to breed good temperaments, beauty, and personality. Merwanke  breeds 3 times a year and puppies are sold to loving and caring homes.

About me

I'm Anke! Since I was young I can't remember not being around dogs. I got married and moved to a beautiful farm. I've always had this dream that I would like to start my own kennel. I've chosen the miniature long haired dachshunds because they are a smaller breed and can be inside the house! But they are also a breed for hunting, running and digging holes, suited for the farm life! Now I can't imagine my life without them! Everywhere I go, they go! Each one has his own personality and needs to be loved in his own way! Breeding for me is not just a hobby, it is a passion. I want to breed to improve the dachshund line.

To the new owner

New owners are welcome to come and look at their puppy that they want to buy. If this is not possible we send videos and photos. We can also schedule a video call to see the puppies. Puppies will be inoculated and dewormed. You will receive the vaccination record. Puppies will be registered with KUSA and they will have a microchip implanted. You will receive a contract with the puppy (please ask for breeding rights) Transportation can be arranged at cost of new owner.
